Blithely positioned above the image, with a nice sense of irony, the usual strapline bellows, "Peacelord of the Universe". <br /><br />I realise the covers were probably not meant to give the impression that Perry's philosophy was to bring about universal peace by the simple expedient of slaughtering everyone else in the universe, but most of the cover art for the original editions does seem to give that impression. Perry was dedicated to peace, in theory, but seemed equally dedicated to *fighting* for it! <br /><br />These covers bring to mind the old description of World War One, as being 'the war to end wars'! That certainly seemed to be the guiding principle of Perry's cover artist.Ed999noreply@blogger.com
